She brought home her first flowers at the age of eight. They were picked from a neighbor’s garden. She got in trouble but she just loved plants.
When she moved into her first apartment, she filled it with any she found. It was like walking into a conservatory.
Soon she found ways to illegally import rare and beautiful varieties.
She became a skilled cross-breeder even without formal training.
After breeding Oleander with a rare species from the Australian bush, she made her most beautiful flower that she called “Fragrant Breeze”.
The CDC determined the cause of death was not communicable.
